Dagestan's annual pavilion at the Caucasus Investment Forum always attracts much visitors’ attention. In 2025 the focus will be made on presenting one of the republic's most promising projects: the glass cluster. This is no coincidence: the industry experiences rapid growth and becomes a driver of the region's economy.

The history of glass production in Dagestan began in 1914 with the opening of a workshop in the village of Dagestanskiye Ogni. Over the past century, the industry has undergone significant transformation, with modernization. The introduction of innovations enabled it to reach new levels of quality and output. In 2023, the cluster was included into the federal register of industrial clusters, strengthening its status as a strategically important entity.

By 2025, two new industrial facilities are scheduled to be commissioned within the cluster. Salavatsteklo Caspiy is set to commission a line that specializes in producing energy-efficient glass, accounting for a substantial 30% share of their overall output. These innovative products adhere to international standards, effectively reducing energy loss in buildings and aligning with global efforts towards sustainability. Meanwhile, DagestanStekloTara is poised to put into operation a workshop that specializes in manufacturing multi-format containers ranging from compact perfume bottles to larger 5-liter containers. This expansion aims to enhance their presence in international markets and cater to a diverse range of consumer demands.

Government support plays a pivotal role in the development of the cluster. The project is integrated into the federal program aimed at enhancing industrial competitiveness and contributing to Dagestan’s developmental strategy until the year 2030. This initiative fosters job creation and catalyzes the growth of related industries such as quartz sand extraction and processing, thereby reducing dependence on imported raw materials.

Moreover, foreign partners also display interest in Dagestan’s glass industry. Investors from the United Arab Emirates consider collaboration with Dagestan to gain access to cutting-edge technologies and expand their market reach. Participation in the upcoming Caucasus Forum in 2025 provides the republic with an opportunity to consolidate its achievements, attract investment and strengthen its standing on the global industrial stage.
