The issues of development of the food and processing industry in the Republic of Dagestan have been discussed today at the extended meeting headed by the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov. Thus, according to preliminary data, in 2023, 3262.5 tons of fruit and vegetable raw materials were processed, which is 32.3% more than in 2022, including: fruits - 2649.5 tons, vegetables - 613 tons.

According to the Prime Minister, the share of food and processing industry in the total volume of manufacturing industries of Dagestan makes 25%.

Besides, in 2024 big investment projects are being implemented in the republic. For example, "Khazar" LLC provides for the construction of a plant for the production of concentrated juices, purees and nectars with a capacity of 15 thousand tons per year; "Irib" LLC builds a facility for the production of juice products from fruits and vegetables in the TOSER "Kaspiysk".

The implementation of these projects will make it possible to create new capacities for processing meat -25 tons/shift, milk - 10 tons/shift, fruits and vegetables -38 tons/shift, rice - 120 tons/shift by 2025.
