By 2025, Dagestan authorities plan to increase the volume of fish catching up to 70 thousand tons. At present, according to the regional Fishery Committee, fish catch indicators are about 33 thousand tons annually.

"Besides, by the specified period we intend to develop the processing and production of fish goods up to 7.5 thousand tons," the Committee official says, specifying that within the framework of the regional target program for the development of fishery complex it is planned to allocate about 12 billion rubles, 1 billion rubles of which are the funds of the republican budget.

Such figures are reflected in the relevant state program. By increasing the volume of fish catch the regional budget may receive an additional 150 million annually, while 1.5 thousand jobs will be created at the enterprises of the local fishery complex.
