The Republic of Dagestan ranks among the top five leaders in the pilot National Cluster Development Rating of Russian regions. The rating results has been announced at the Russian Industrial Forum in Ufa.

The rating system was initiated by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade to comprehensively assess the development of industrial and innovation clusters across the country's regions. During the study, experts analyzed 89 federal subjects based on 21 key indicators, including:

•    Level of cooperation between business, science and the state
•    Degree of institutional support
•    Participation of enterprises in value-added chains

Currently, three key industrial clusters are successfully operating in the republic: wool processing, footwear manufacturing and glass production.
