Dagestan has resumed rice exports after a five-year hiatus with a significant shipment to Azerbaijan. The export was facilitated by a partnership between Dagestani "Niva" LLC, which controls the full production cycle fr om field to final packaging and the republic's Export Support Center. A key obstacle remains, however. The Center noted that small federal export quotas for rice continue to lim it sales and stifle the industry's development. In response, the Center plans to intensify its efforts to secure new foreign market access for Dagestani goods.
