In 2025, the Republic of Dagestan aims to cultivate 234,000 hectares of spring crops, bringing the total cultivated area to 364,000 hectares, including both winter crops and permanent grasses.

The composition of the spring sowing is dominated by forage crops, which occupy an area of 85,600 hectares, followed by cereals (72,300 hectares) and vegetables (41,900 hectares). Sowing requires the purchase of 13,000 tons of seed and approximately 60,000 tons of potato planting material. At present, the seed supply is 60% of the required amount.

Currently, 82,000 ha have been plowed, 8,000 ha of winter crops fertilized, and more than 1,000 tons of fertilizers applied. Plans for 2025 include the application of 16,000 tons of mineral fertilizers and approximately 1.5 million tons of organic fertilizer. Despite the technical challenges, more than 2,000 units of agricultural machinery underwent repairs and over 3,500 tractor units were prepared during the fall-winter period.

Preparations are underway for the irrigation system on the fields, with a goal of irrigating a total area of 250,000 hectares. Spring work is also underway in orchards, including pruning and preparations for drip irrigation. It is planned to plant approximately 500 hectares of new orchards by the end of 2025.
