Dagestan winemakers actively pursue the development of their industry, reinvesting the funds they receive to strengthen it. In the past six months, the republic invested RUB 1,339 million in viticulture and wine production. Viticulture and winemaking constitute a critical sector of agriculture in Dagestan, contributing significantly to the region's budget and providing employment opportunities for rural residents.

In 2023, the regional enterprises produced more than 4.5 million dal of products, with an increase of 15 per cent over the previous year. This year there is also a positive dynamic of production by 13 per cent over the previous year. Additional impetus for the development of cognac producers was given by the adopted amendments to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, which provide for a compensatory mechanism in the form of excise duty deductions.

For 2 quarters of 2024, investments were made in the viticulture and wine-making industry:

RUB 58.5 million - for planting new vineyards;
RUB 165.3 million - for the maintenance of vineyards;
RUB 632 million - for the development of the material and technical base, etc.
