Grape processing volume in Dagestan increases by 16%

Large-scale investment projects for the cultivation of vineyards covering an area of 1,354.8 hectars are being implemented in the region. The volume of grape processing in Dagestan has increased by 16%, with 234 million tons of grapes processed, representing a 16% increase compared to the previous year, the regional Committee for Viticulture and Regulation of Alcoholic Beverages reports.

In 2024, the total grape harvest amounted to 301.5 million tons, marking a 6% increase compared to the previous year's figures. Dagestan contributes more than a quarter of Russia's vineyard acreage and grape production.

Additionally, wine production continues to expand, with an increase of 21% in cognac production, 19% in wine production, and 39% in sparkling wine production. The tax revenues derived from the wine sector account for over 15% of the republic’s total tax incomes.

In 2024, the revenues witnessed a remarkable growth of 15%, surpassing the mark of 6.8 billion rubles. This remarkable achievement was accompanied by the creation of over 1,500 new job opportunities within the industry.
