Makhachkala, July 6, 2018. The Prime MInister of the Republic of Dagestan Artem Zdunov and the director general of the nonprofit organization "Foundation for Development of Single-Industry Towns" Ilya Krivogov, following the seminar-conference "Academy of Monotowns", held in Kaspiysk on July 5, answered the questions of journalists.

Speaking about the significance of the seminar-conference, the Prime Minister noted: "There are more than 300 mono-cities in Russia, each of them went through work with infrastructure, attracting investments. There are such cities, which in principle were close to losing the status of the city. Many of them overcame the problems. The experience is enormous; it can only be transferred from person to person. When we hold such seminar-conferences, in fact, we model what can be done in a specific situation. I believe that the greatest experience comes from life and today we saw it. "

The journalists asked Ilya Krivoyev to explain what kind of benefits this educational project brings.

"The main benefit is in the knowledge and practices shared. Let’s not reinvent the wheel. We had already developed interesting projects implemented not only in Dagestan, but also in other regions of Russia. We have specially gathered teams from different cities here so that they can exchange experiences. There are interesting projects in other regions too. We collect this information and distribute it during this event. You know that the President of the Russian Federation has identified new directions for the development of the country. These are 12 main directions. The priority projects are being formed as well as the development support tools for these projects. I would like to see all these projects in the monocities here in Dagestan, first of all. It is very important not to waste time. The opportunities for business development in Dagestan, I believe, are enormous. Therefore, A call for work with the development institutions, the Foundation and the other organizations that are open for cooperation. We are ready to help in this in every possible way" – Krivogov said.

Also, the representatives of the media were interested in the difficulties that the regions face while constructing the industrial parks. Answering the question, Ilya Krivogov said: “This is a complicated story, and not just for Dagestan. This is not an easy task to manage the resident policy, when you have to negotiate with investors so that they can organize a joint or separate business on one site. Therefore, before starting the implementation of such projects, one must seriously assess whether there are enough competencies to manage these processes. These are the land relations, personnel, tax system and benefits and the work with development institutions. If this work is not organized systematically, then such projects are implemented hard. If systematically organized, all the emerging problems are solved quickly and efficiently”.

In turn, the Mayor of Kaspiysk Magomed Abdulayev said that in accordance with the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation, in 2017 Kaspiysk received the status of "the territory of advanced social and economic development". "There are 4 residents registered in the city. They are beginning to work directly on the sites. I think that by the end of 2018, additional jobs will be created. The training in Skolkovo and the seminar-conference held in Kaspiysk have brought up the level of education of the management team"- Abdulayev said.
