In April 2024 the Nordwind Airlines will launch direct flights from Nizhnevartovsk (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug) to Makhachkala (Dagestan) twice a week. The "Nordwind Airlines (Northern Wind LLC) has confirmed the start of flights: from April 27 it will launch a direct scheduled flight on the route Nizhnevartovsk - Makhachkala. The flights will be operated twice a week.

The passengers will be carried by Boing 737-800 aircrafts, which can accommodate up to 190 passengers. In the autumn-winter season only RedWings flew from Nizhnevartovsk to Dagestan. It is also possible to get to Makhachkala from Surgut on Pobeda aircrafts.
