In April 2025, Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port broke the record for total cargo transshipment that had been held for 13 years. The port's dry cargo terminal handled an impressive 83,525 tons of cargo in April, the highest volume since 2012.

Iranian cement continued to dominate the transshipment with an impressive volume of nearly 75,000 tons. Additionally, other cargoes such as ceramic tiles and fertilizers were also handled in the port facilities.
