More than RUR 320 million rubles to be invested in development of Makhachkala railways

Makhachkala, May 25, 2019. The Russian Railways JSC will have invested over 320 million rubles by the end of 2019 in the development and renewal of infrastructure of the railroads in Makhachkala region of the North Caucasian Railways.
“This year, the volume of investments allocated for the development and renewal of the railway infrastructure in Makhachkala region of the North Caucasian Mainline would make more than 320 million rubles. This is 82% more than last year indices” - the press service of the North-Caucasian Railway said following the meeting between Dagestani Head Vladimir Vasilyev and the director of the North-Caucasian Railways, Vladimir Pyastolov.
In particular, in 2019 the company will reconstruct the railway track at the stations of Makhachkala, Derbent, Manas, as well as at the Kizilyurt - Temirgoi section. Besides, the equipment and power supply devices and means of ensuring transport safety will be updated.
It was also noted that by the end of the year, the Makhachkala railway station would be adapted for people with limited mobility: lifting equipment would be installed, ticket offices and waiting rooms would be adapted.
Inquiry; Makhachkala region covers the territory of Dagestan and Kalmykia. The operational length of the section is 509 kilometers, and the length of public ways totals 1227.5 kilometers.
