The Republic of Dagestan has secured the fourth position in terms of passenger traffic within the North Caucasian railway network. The total number of passengers amounted to 1.7 million in 2024, representing an increase of 9% compared to 2023.

According to official data, Makhachkala station recorded a significant increase in passenger traffic, serving 564 thousand individuals in 2024. Derbent station recorded a passenger volume of 339 thousand during the same period.

Krasnodar Krai emerged as the leader in terms of suburban train services, with a remarkable transport capacity of 23 million passengers. Rostov region followed closely with 9.9 million, while Stavropol region secured third place with 6.5 million passengers.
