Kizlyar Cognac Factory has been removed from the privatization program for the period from 2025 to 2027, as evidenced by a draft law amending the federal law «On the Federal Budget for 2025 and the Planning Period of 2026–2027».

However, in April 2024, the government included the plant in the privatization plan for 2024-26. The enterprise, founded in 1885, was transformed into a joint-stock company in February 2018, with one hundred percent of its shares in federal ownership. An assessment found that the total value of the enterprise before privatization made RUB 9.4 billion.
