The project for the construction of an enrichment plant will be implemented by Sernoye Mining and Processing Combine LLC, located on the territory of Kumtorkalinsky municipal district. It is planned to create a cluster of glass products manufacturers.
The projected annual capacity of the facility is estimated at 500,000 metric tons of raw materials. A favourable expert assessment on the construction has been secured. The Sernoye Mining and Processing Combine, established in 1998, is engaged in the extraction of diverse mineral resources. Dagestan boasts explored reserves of silica sand amounting to 114 million tons. The silica sand will undergo enrichment for use in the glass industry. The plant's capacity is projected to produce 1000 tons per day.
Currently, the demand for silica sand in the region stands at approximately 500 tons per day, ensuring that the enriched sand would suffice to meet the needs of other regions across the country. To illustrate, the Salavat-Steklo Caspian Glass factory located in Kumtorkalinsky district, manufactures up to 600 tons of final products annually, with raw materials being sourced from other regions within the country.
