Specialists of Dagenergo, a branch of Rosseti Northern Caucasus, will replace 6,916 insulators on 0.4-110 kV power transmission lines in 2024. 1,440 units of equipment are planned for high-voltage power facilities, 5,476 - for 0.4-10 kV power lines.
An insulator is an element of overhead transmission lines that performs both fastening and protection functions. The proper selection and quality of the dielectric equipment determine the smooth operation of the networks and the life and health of the operating personnel.
The power engineers are replacing worn-out insulators with modern, high-quality glass insulators to improve the reliability and safety of the power grid. These new insulators have excellent mechanical strength, do not deform under stress, are resistant to ultraviolet radiation, and have zero water permeability, ensuring long-lasting performance in even the harshest weather conditions.
Apart from these improvements, a number of other technical measures are being taken to prepare the regional power network for operation during the fall and winter months. These measures include: upgrading equipment, conducting maintenance and testing, and implementing additional safety protocols to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the network during this critical period.
