Makhachkala, June 20, 2014. The "Dance Mosaic" student ensemble of the Muradova Daghestan College of Culture and Arts has won the prize of the international dance camp and festival-contest «AKVA-LOO-TEMP!» held in Sochi, June 9-16.
For a week, participants lived, performed and had master classes at the "AkvaLoo" sanatorium. On arrival, the guests had a sightseeing tour. Next day, they started their workshops which were taking place 10 am – 2 pm the whole week, except for competition days.
There were 2 competition days – on the first day, Daghestan participants performed the "Avar maiden dance" enjoying great success with the audience; on the second day, there was the "Mistress" dance. It was the most exciting and responsible performance, because as they say "they don't bring coals to Newcastle" still, they got a compliment from one of the jury members, who said he did not recognize our girls – so very natural they looked in the character of Russian mistresses.
The student ensemble’s result in the competition became the award of the first degree. "Well, it is not the Grand Prix that we got, but it is our goal now, one day, we will earn the honorary title. We have returned home with a sense of accomplishment and a huge amount of knowledge we acquired at this wonderful and memorable trip," said college teacher A. Popova.
