Decorative and applied arts of Dagestan on display in Tver

L. Chaikina Museum and Exhibition Center in Tver hosts a unique exhibition called "Ornaments and Reflections" which features decorative and applied artworks from the collections of Derbent State Historical-Architectural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve.

The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Tver Region, Tver Regional House of Folk Art and Derbent State Historical, Architectural and Archaeological Museum Reserve. Visitors can see more than a hundred exhibits - objects of everyday life and ethnography, as well as 15 national costumes of the peoples of Dagestan.

The exhibition allows residents and visitors of Tver region to experience the unique cultural heritage of Dagestan. It includes bright pile and lint-free rugs from Sumakhi, unique handwoven carpets, intricate silver ornaments from Kubachi, beautiful ceramic pottery from Balkhar, skillfully carved wooden objects from Untsukul, intricately decorated copper vessel, and many other rare artifacts.

The exhibition is accompanied by 25 photos of ancient Derbent, which show the Naryn-Kala citadel, old city walls, bathhouses, mosques, narrow streets and other places of interest. The exhibition will run till April 19th.
