Film about Hochbar shown as part of Tour of Russia festival in Moscow
Moscow, April 7, 2015. Moscow audience had the opportunity to see a rare underrated film "The Legend of Brave Hochbar" within the Tour of Russia festival, the press service of Dagestan Permanent Mission at the Russian President told RIA Dagestan.
The wonderful movie was created in 1986 under the scenario by Alexei German Sr. (also the artistic director of the project) and Svetlana Karmalita on Rasul Gamzatov’s poem "The Legend of Hochbar, Uzden from Gidatl village, of the Kazi-Kumukh khan, of the Khunzakh nutsal and his daughter Sahadat".
The lobby of the cinema was hosting an exhibition of Dagestani arts and crafts items: jewelry, souvenir weapons, Kubachi products (silverware, horn glasses, vases), hand-knitted carpets, dolls dressed in national costumes, and highlander clothing – the burka cloak, the papakha hat, and dzhurabs - traditional Caucasusian footwear.
The visitors could enjoy fragrant Caucasian highland herb tea, taste Dagestani bakery, and see a photo exhibition of Ivan Dementievskiy dedicated to celebration of the 2,000th anniversary of Derbent.
The film was preceded by a short concert program with singing and dancing. Both the cultural part and showing of the film were organized by the Moskino film studio and Dagestan Permanent Mission of at the President of the Russian Federation.
