"Today, within the framework of the federal project “Digital Culture” implemented under the national program “Culture”, the Russian State Drama Theater in Makhachkala hosts the official opening ceremony of the virtual concert hall equipped with modern multimedia equipment and high-speed Internet. The format of the facility allows the audience to become spectators of online federal and regional cultural events”, - Butaeva said.
As to Butaeva, this is a large-scale project of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the main purpose of which is to popularize academic music art among the residents of different Russia’s regions. "The hall opened gives everyone an opportunity to listen to concerts of famous Russian bands, performers in online mode or in recording. So, today in Makhachkala, more than a hundred people listened to the online final of the violinists contest held within the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition"- the republican minister noted.
“The cost of the project totals to more than 2.5 million rubles. The new hall is designed for 700 people. By the end of the year, it is planned to organize at least three online broadcasts of concerts by famous Russian groups and performers” - Butaeva concluded.
Within the framework of the national project "Culture", it is planned to create virtual concert halls in 500 cities by 2024. According to passport of the national project, by December 1, 2019, 80 such halls should have been created in Russia as part of the “Cultural Environment” federal project. The creation of virtual concert halls involves the provision of regional and municipal cultural institutions with high-speed broadband access to the information and telecommunication Internet network, their equipment with technical and technological equipment, as well as the regular broadcasts of philharmonic concerts.
