The National Museum of the Republic of Dagestan, named after A. Takhogodi, has unveiled a photographic exhibition of decorative and applied arts titled "Messages of the Millennia: Ornaments and Patterns of the Peoples of Dagestan" grant-supported by the President of the Russian Federation. The project allows visitors to immerse themselves in the realm of art of the IX–XX centuries and delve into the history of the unique Dagestani ornaments.

In a statement issued by the Republican House of Folk Art, the exhibition is described as a collection of photos showcasing jewelry, carpet making and carving. As part of the project, workshops on gold embroidery, Kaitag embroidery, Kubachi jewelry, Untsukul wood carving and carpet weaving were also held at the museum. The culmination of the project was a round table discussion on the topic of "Preservation of Cultural Heritage: Universal Values in the Ornamental Art of Dagestan" featuring artisans, ethnographers and other experts in the field.

Representatives of the younger generation gathered as part of a discussion to explore the philosophical significance of Dagestani ornaments, which are imbued with symbols of cosmic order, concepts of infinity, and protective signs. Experts emphasized that folk crafts have been preserved thanks to their integration into various aspects of life, such as weddings, childbirth, and funeral rituals. These crafts, including carpets, ornaments and embroidered garments, carry a special significance in these traditions.
