The Republic of Dagestan has formally launched a state program aimed at preservation, study and development of its diverse regional languages. The initiative is designed to systematically support the unique cultural heritage embodied in the republic's linguistic tapestry.

Moving beyond mere preservation, the program aims to actively promote the dynamic evolution of these languages and cultivate interest in their study among younger generations. The strategic importance of this work was previously underscored by the Head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov, in an address to the republican parliament.

Arsen Yusupov, head of the Agency of Information and Press of the Republic of Dagestan, highlighted the vital role of national media in this endeavor, defining their mission as the creation of compelling, high-quality content in the languages of Dagestan's peoples to resonate with modern audiences, particularly the youth.

Ultimately, the program seeks to consolidate and synchronize the efforts of government bodies, educational institutions, and mass media to secure the linguistic legacy of Dagestan for future generations.
