Dagestan and Oman are engaged in discussions regarding the initiation of joint drone production. Representatives of Kizlyar Plant and Omani Ministry of Industry and Commerce are involved in negotiations.
Dagestan may serve as the launching pad for a novel technological partnership between Russia and Oman. During official discussions, both parties explored the possibility of collaborating to establish joint drone manufacturing operations. The concept is straightforward: to merge Russian advancements in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles with Oman's interest in entering the market for cutting-edge solutions.
This initiative is driven by the increasing demand for drones in both military and civilian applications. Dagestan already possesses an industrial foundation, as the Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant commenced assembling domestically produced quadcopters with a versatile range of functionalities last year. These vehicles can perform a variety of tasks, from surveillance of objects to mapping and emergency response operations.
If the agreements are finalized, Dagestan will get a potential to become the inaugural Russian region to start manufacturing UAVs on an international scale. Oman, in turn, will serve as the gateway for these products to enter the marketplaces of the Middle East and Northern Africa.
