At the regular meeting of the Regional Operational Headquarters, Sergei Melikov, Head of the Republic of Dagestan, announced the development of a concept for Tarki settlement (a suburb of Makhachkala) and the local observation deck. Stressing the need for a comprehensive approach to the project, the governor ordered that the development concept be presented within the next month, followed by a discussion with the local residents.

"The development of suburban areas in the Republic is an issue of top priority. Improvements should not be limited to the central area of Makhachkala, but should extend to all settlements surrounding the capital" - Melikov is quoted as saying.
