A number of Russian regions are experiencing difficult situation due to the detection of nodular dermatitis outbreaks. A state of emergency has been declared in Astrakhan region. The situation is problematic in Irkutsk region and Khakassia. The Veterinary Committee of the Russian Federation and Rosselkhoznadzor (Russia’s State agricultural watchdog) will strengthen control over the importation of farm animals from unfavorable regions. In this regard, the republican farmers are urged to conduct a scheduled vaccination of livestock.
