Since the beginning of 2023 the export of farm animals increased by 46% compared to the same period last year in Dagestan. According to Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance), the region sent abroad 151 thousand heads of live animals. Besides, 183 tons of mutton in live weight, as well as 2 thousand tons of fish and fish products were exported.

"The main importing countries are Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Tajikistan, Georgia, UAE and Uzbekistan" - the department official says.

At the same time, the source notes, the shipments from companies included in the list of enterprises whose products were recognized as safe in veterinary and sanitary terms, their quality and safety confirmed by the results of laboratory tests were allowed for export.
