Dagestan authorities intend to send a business delegation to Oman in May 2025 with the primary objective to foster cooperation between the two regions. The delegation will negotiate with Omani government officials and potential business partners, as well as visit specialized economic zones. A particular focus will be placed on the trade and economic relations issues.

The visit will take place amidst the backdrop of strengthening Russian-Omani relations. Following the meeting between Russian President and the Sultan of Oman in Moscow, significant agreements were signed, including the abolition of visas. The priority areas identified for collaboration encompass logistics, transportation, investment, agriculture and energy.

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development regards Oman as a strategic partner for accessing the markets of the Persian Gulf region and as a crucial transit hub for extending Russia's influence in Western Asia and Africa. Potentially promising areas for cooperation include tourism, agricultural development and the enhancement of the North–South transport corridor.

Bilateral trade between the two countries reached $314 million in 2023. Oman's participation in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum demonstrated a shared commitment to deepening cooperation. As a thriving and progressive nation, Oman is actively seeking to implement joint ventures and expand its foreign trade partnerships.
