The volume of electricity consumption in the Republic of Dagestan has reached unprecedented heights in 2024. According to Marat Shikhaliyev, Minister of Energy and Tariffs Regulation, the annual consumption amounted to 9.4 billion kWh, which is an increase of 9% compared to 2023 and a remarkable 36.5% increase compared to 2020.

Shikhaliyev emphasized the significance of December 2024, highlighting that it marked the first time in the history of Dagestan that monthly electricity consumption surpassed 1 billion kWh. Additionally, a new record was set for daily electricity consumption, reaching 1,620 MW, slightly exceeding the previous year's record of 1,615 MW.
