The head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov announced plans to develop public transport in the republic. According to the top official, Dagestan is taking the best experiences of Russian cities that have successfully rationalized their public transport systems. Melikov noted that the only way to improve transport is to merge smaller transport companies, as was done in Moscow, for example. This will create a larger company that can not only provide transportation services, but also modernize its fleet, offer competitive wages, and train specialists.
