The Head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov have met in Moscow to discuss issues related to the industrial development and business support in the region. Particular emphasis was placed on Dagestan Industrial Development Fund, which had already financed 34 projects for modernization and expansion of industrial facilities amounting to approximately RUB 790 million.

The officials discussed the potential for increasing wages at enterprises in the defense industry sector in Dagestan and implementing a reduced insurance premium rate for footwear manufacturers as part of the "Shoe Makers City" project, designed to create 1,600 new jobs.
