Dagestan authorities has introduced a new state award - a badge of honour "For Mercy and Beneficence". The badge of honor is a silver star with gilding. In the center there is a round silver medallion with a relief gold rim. It shows the coat of arms of Dagestan and two palms supporting it.

The medal is awarded for personal contribution to saving lives and preserving health, free and selfless assistance to the needy, participants of the Special Military Operation and their families, as well as for development of volunteerism and preservation of traditions of mercy.

The idea for the award was born after Dagestan's People's Artist Marat Timokhin appealed to the head of the republic via direct line last November. Sergei Melikov said the idea was good and promised to see it through. The State Award was established in January 2024.
