Nine water supply infrastructure facilities will be constructed in Dagestan under the national target project «Housing and Urban Environment».
These projects encompass a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing water supply and sanitation services in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk, two key cities in the region. A significant focus is on constructing the Chirkey-Makhachkala-Kaspiysk pipeline, which is designed to provide drinking water for over 900,000 residents.
Engineering and survey works are progressing at a remarkable pace, with completion rates standing at 99% and 86.3% respectively. Additionally, plans are in place to reconstruct pumping stations, pressure collectors and sewerage networks in Khasavyurt. Furthermore, the initiative encompasses the construction of the Kaitag-Derbent water pipeline as well as wastewater treatment facilities in Dagestanskie Ogni municipal district.
The region actively implements federal initiative known as the Clean Water project, which involves the provision of financial support to update water supply infrastructure in Kazbekovsky, Ahvakhovsky municipal districts and the town of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk. These projects are scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.
The primary goal of the Clean Water initiative is to enhance the accessibility of high-quality drinking water sourced from centralized water supply systems for a greater proportion of the population in Russian regions.
