Progressive tax scale introduced in Russia - Dagestan branch of Federal Tax Service

On January 1st, a new progressive scale of personal income tax (PIT) has come into force in Russia, the press service of the Federal Tax Service department across the Republic of Dagestan reports.
The tax rates now depend on the amount of income and range from 13% for earnings up to RUB 2.4 million to 15% for incomes exceeding RUB 2.4 and up to RUB 5 million per year. This scale encompasses various types of income, including salaries, winnings from gambling, profits derived from Controlled Foreign Companies and other forms of earnings.
Furthermore, income generated from real estate sales and securities transactions is also subject to taxation at 13% for amounts up to RUB 2.4 million and 15% for sums exceeding this threshold. Additionally, specific categories of income such as allowances, payments to participants in special military operations and salaries of individuals working in the Far North are taxed at 13% up to RUB 5 million and 15% thereafter.
