The Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic of Dagestan Mukhtarbiy Adzhekov took part in the XXII All-Russian Congress of milk producers and processors in Moscow.

"During the event it was noted that last year in Russia there were 7.5 million cows, of which almost 481 thousand in Dagestan - more than in other regions. In 2023, the Russian Federation produced 33.8 million tons of milk, which is 2.5% more than a year earlier" the Ministry official says. It is also noted that the delegates proposed to develop a federal program for the development of dairy industry, improving genetics of breeding livestock, the introduction of innovative technologies in production and support for smallholdings, self-employed and family farms.

Adzhekov reminded that authorities pay special attention to the development of dairy cattle breeding in Dagestan. Milk yields have increased over the past few years and a number of large investment projects in this area are currently being implemented in the republic.
