Maxim Borovoy, the deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, delivered this statement during the official opening ceremony of the Kargalinsky hydrosystem in Dagestan. In his speech, Borovoy highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Ministry and the leadership of Dagestan in fostering agricultural growth.
“The construction of this irrigation system is expected to boost advancement of crop and livestock cultivation. The commissioning of this facility serves as a testament to our resolute efforts within the context of a unified strategy for agricultural growth. This facility is just one example among many we have explored. This year alone, we have initiated the planning process for the reconstruction of two additional large irrigation systems, aimed at expanding irrigated land. This initiative will enable us to surpass our goals and fulfill the objectives set by the President V.Putin to enhance agricultural production and exports by 2030” - Borovoy said.
In the coming years, there are plans to start the rehabilitation of the Staro-Terekhnaya and Talovskaya irrigation systems in the region. The design phase and the process of securing expert evaluations are expected to be completed between 2025 and 2026.
