After the oil spill in Anapa and the deterioration of the environmental situation, some vacationers began to seek alternative destinations for their summer holidays. One such option was the Caspian coast in Dagestan, which attract travelers with its pristine beaches and relatively reasonable prices.

Dagestan emerged as a top choice due to its extensive stretch of unspoiled sandy shores spanning from Derbent to the border with Azerbaijan, encompassing popular resorts like Izberbash situated closer to Makhachkala. In terms of affordability, vacations in the republic can be considered more economical compared to international destinations such as Vietnam or Azerbaijan, previously recommended as alternatives to Anapa.

Regrettably, there is a dearth of all-inclusive accommodations in Dagestan, with only a minority of establishments offering full-board services. Most frequently, tourists have the option to choose between staying without meals or opting for a breakfast.

Moreover, hotels on the shores of the Caspian Sea do not cater as those on the Black Sea coast. There is a dearth of entertainment, children's menus and other amenities geared towards family leisure. Additionally, resort destinations in this region offer fewer activities tailored specifically for the young people.
The climate in the Caspian region is generally cooler than that of the Black Sea, resulting in a shorter tourist season. However, in the case of Dagestan, beach vacations can be combined with a captivating program of excursions, making it an appealing destination for individuals seeking an active holiday experience.
