In Dagestan, the cryptocurrency miners have stolen electricity worth more than 80 million rubles since the beginning of the year. The local authorities have identified 25 cases of illegal electricity use by mining companies in the region. Regular inspections are carried out to combat illegal consumers of electricity in the republic.

According to reports, there have already been more than 150 inspections this year. As a result, 16 criminal proceedings have been instituted. These inspections are part of a wider campaign to combat corruption and illegal activity in the fuel and energy sector in Dagestan. As to Marat Shikhaliyev, the Minister of Energy and Tariffs of the region, these activities are closely monitored by the regional government.
