Dagestan among Russian regions with lowest alcohol consumption

According to the analytical service of FinExpertiza, an audit and consulting network, Dagestan ranks among the Russian regions with the lowest rates of alcohol consumption. As of October 31st, the republic reports a per capita consumption of only 1.07 litres of strong alcoholic beverages per year, which is significantly lower than in other areas such as the Republic of Karelia, where the figure stands at 12.02 litres, the Sakhalin Oblast at 11.08 litres, and the Republic of Komi at 10.99 litres.
