Despite the withdrawal of several foreign film studios from distribution network and a noticeable drop in profitability in 2022, cinemas in Makhachkala have already recovered their profits in 2023. Last year, the total revenue of regional cinemas in Dagestan amounted to RUB 328.3 million, compared to 199.7 million rubles in 2022.  This impressive growth is reported in the statistical data of the Unified Automated Information System. Besides, as to statistic data, the number of visitors of the cinema halls has significantly increased (1.1 million people in 2023 compared to 725 thousand people in 2022).
