Dagestan introduces double control of advertising under civil law and Sharia

Dagestan pioneers a novel system for regulating advertising activities in Russia. This system will incorporate a dual control mechanism, adhering not only to the Federal Law on Advertising but also considering the principles of Sharia and the cultural sensibilities of Dagestan. This approach is unprecedented in Russian practice, as the evaluation of advertising content will henceforth be subject to both federal legislation and spiritual and ethical guidelines.
