Dagestan has joined the global initiative "Light it Up Blue" to mark World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. In Derbent, the local authorities painted a multimedia fountain blue, while in Makhachkala, the city's TV tower was illuminated in the same colour. Additionally, the facade of Makhachkala Russian Drama Theatre was adorned with blue lights.

The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and emphasize the importance of fostering an inclusive society. Magomedrasul Bazuev, the Chairman of the Youth Parliament in Derbent, expressed his best wishes for health and wellbeing for children with autism and their families. Organizers emphasized that ASD affects one person in every hundred, underscoring the significance of creating a more accepting environment for the individuals with ASD.
