The Russian regions were ranked on the basis of their labor market situation. Eight indicators were analyzed to calculate the rating, including wage levels, employment, working conditions, and labor market capacity. Moscow and St. Petersburg traditionally lead the rating due to high salaries and a large number of job vacancies. Meanwhile, Dagestan, with its low salaries and high unemployment, took the worst position. RIA Rating analysts ranked Dagestan 84th out of 85 regions included in the study.
