A native of the village of Turaga located in Kaitagski municipal district, a successful programmer Magomed Kaitagsky (Magomedov), who is a student at Innopolis University created a children's application for learning their native language together with an entrepreneur from North Ossetia, Alikhan Khoranov.
As to Magomed, the interface of the mobile application is so simple that children can easily understand it. It works in several languages at once: Russian, English and Turkish, and Ossetian and Kubachi are taken as the languages of instruction.
The first expandable parallel language guide Avzag began with a table of all the letters of Kaitag language and audio files - one click on a letter and one could hear how it sounds. “I did the programming and voice work by myself. This is how Avzag appeared, first in the Ossetian language. Two years of work alone - and a mobile application for the languages of the Caucasus appeared. People themselves can fill in the materials of dictionaries. The system is open to all users, and quality control is implemented through the addition of word verification.
This means that words added by an ordinary user are visible to everyone with a mark of inaccuracy until they are reviewed and confirmed or refuted by the editors” – Magomed explained.
Note, several hundred words and voiceovers have already been uploaded into the program. Picchi (illustrations) are selected so that a child, in the course of learning the language, also adopts cultural features: learns about the national dishes and elements of clothing of his people.
The developers plan to expand the dictionary by adding new dictionaries, including Kaitag one.
