Dagestan winery plans to invest RUB 200 million in agrotourism

Dagestan actively develops infrastructure with a view to attract more tourists. The regional Ministry of Tourism emphasizes the importance of agro-industrial tourism, where visitors can visit a specific enterprise, see its products and learn about the production process. Last year, 9,000 tourists visited Derbent Wine Company. This year, the company expects to welcome 16,000 visitors. In the next five years, the company plans to invest more than 200 million rubles in developing its tourist infrastructure.

Derbent Wine Company is located in the center of the ancient city of Derbent. The territory of the winery runs along the northern wall of the fortress, which descends fr om the Naryn-Kala citadel at a height of 340 meters above sea level directly to the shores of the Caspian Sea.

Within walking distance from the winery there is a museum complex "Peter the Great's House", which represents the remains of a dugout wh ere the Emperor stayed during his stay in Derbent. Directly on the territory of Derbent Winery there is "Peter the Great's Well" - a source of drinking water from which the Emperor and his entourage drank water.
