The medical institution in Dagestan - the Republican Oncology Centre held a preventive action for early detection of breast pathology in women, which was timed to the World Cancer Day, celebrated on February 4.

Here, 123 women from different Dagestan municipalities underwent a thorough examination and were examined and advised by the best specialists in the field of oncology. The women were screened using digital mammography (breast screening) and ultrasound.

They were also given an opportunity to undergo trepan biopsy and fine needle aspiration biopsy for medical reasons. All consultations were free of charge and without referral. Noteworthy, the regional Public Health Ministry regularly organizes such events.
