Dagestan continues to actively implement its infertility treatment program using assisted reproductive technologies. During the first nine months of 2025, 1,043 in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures were performed in the republic, with a total cost of RUB 112 million. Among these, 182 procedures were conducted outside the patients' home insurance region. Compared to the same period last year, the number of procedures increased by 92.

The Republican Public Health Ministry notes that IVF is a method that helps couples facing various medical problems preventing natural conception. If a couple is diagnosed with infertility that cannot be treated, or if there are conditions preventing pregnancy, they can undergo IVF free of charge under the compulsory health insurance policy. To do this, they need to contact a women's clinic where a doctor will conduct an examination and, if indications are present, issue a referral. Afterwards, the couple can independently choose a medical center to perform the IVF procedure.
