Makhachkala hosted the VIII North Caucasian Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation "Infertile Marriage: From Outpatient Care to ART (assisted reproductive technologies)", which focused on addressing the challenges of increasing the number of infertile couples in Dagestan.
This year, the two-day event was held in both online and offline formats featuring 68 speakers from Moscow, St Petersburg, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Samara, Sochi, Chelyabinsk and Dagestan. Over 600 participants attended the conference, while the broadcast was also available on the MedStudio platform for doctors who could join from any location. Over the course of two days, more than 800 people connected to the event.

At the opening of the conference, Vladislav Korsak, President of the Russian Association for Human Reproduction (RASHR), emphasized the importance of discussing the effectiveness of fertility treatments at the level of the Federation Council of Russia.
The problem of infertility in Dagestan is a pressing issue, despite the ongoing natural population growth. More than 20 thousand couples are registered with infertility. In 2023, more than a thousand IVF procedures were performed in Dagestan. Each year, the number of patients treated by doctors in women's clinics in districts and cities increases.

This is why the conference places a lot of emphasis on training outpatient doctors. Apart from the gynecology section, the joint sessions of andrologists, reproductive specialists and embryologists attracted great interest of the audience. At the end of each session, time was set aside for discussion. This year, the discussions were particularly active.
