The production of seedlings adapted to the local climate and soils in Dagestan has more than tripled in the last 20 years, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan reports. In intensive orchards, this indicator has increased by 1.5 times.

It should be noted that over 1.3 million fruit and nut seedlings were grown in six nurseries in the region last year. "Among them 800 thousand pieces - nut fruits, more than 300 thousand - seed trees, more than 180 thousand - stone trees and about 10 thousand subtropical trees", - the agricultural department officer explained.

At the same time, more than 300 thousand seedlings were recognized as suitable for planting in gardens. This is also one and a half times more than in 2022.
