Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port hosted an inter regional conference with participation of the leading experts in port infrastructure. The director general of the port Jamal Aliyev noted the relevance of the problem of the sea level decrease for all the ports.
Scientists exchanged expert opinions on adaptation of port infrastructure to the sea level changes and agreed on further cooperation.

The group of specialists visited the village of Almalo-Uchkent in Kumtorkala municipal district, where scientists studied one of the largest coastal ramparts testifying to the changes in the level of the Caspian Sea 14 thousand years ago. The analysis of these unique objects will make it possible to reconstruct the history of sea level fluctuations and better understand the nature of these changes.
