A group of terrorists detained today in Dagestan has been identified as a result of increased security measures introduced in the republic after the terrorist attack in the "Crocus" town hall in Moscow.
This morning in two cities of Dagestan - Makhachkala and Kaspiysk - a counter-terrorist operation regime (CTO) was introduced. As reported, three suspects involved in the preparation of terrorist attacks in the region were blocked in the apartments of multi-storey buildings and then detained.
Automatic weapons and a ready-made improvised explosive device were confiscated. No civilians or law enforcement personnel were injured during the operation.
After the terrorists were detained, the CTO regime in the republic was abolished. The head of the region thanked the representatives of the republic's law enforcement bodies for their work and urged residents to remain vigilant.
